Rumor: Konami operative happening new Metal Gear, Castlevania, and Silent J. J. Hill games
Konami is getting back off into the business of making Metal Gear, Castlevania, and Still Hill games, a report from VideoGamesChronicle indicates.
Citing anon. sources in Konami's publishing team, VGC reports that Konami is preparing to make new installments in all deuce-ac series. The first connected the docket is a "reimagining" of Castlevania, which is currently in maturation at Konami's Japanese Archipelago studio apartment, with support from external studios.
The Metal Gear revival is reportedly being worked along by Virtuos, a major suffer studio that's had a hand in numerous other games, including Jedi: Fallen Regularize, The Last of U.S.A Part 2, Fiend English hawthorn Cry, NBA 2K20, and League of Legends. Most notably, it light-emitting diode co-development on the Switch versions of Dark Souls Remastered, BioShock Ingathering, and The Outer Worlds. It's besides contributed art to Uncharted 4, Battlefield 1, and Horizon Zero Dawn.
VGC reports that the Metal Gear project is in early development, and that it will be "central about" Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Feeder rather than the modern day entries. I'm not 100% sure what that's supposed to mean, but my supposition is that IT might pursue more exploits of Big Boss ala Metal Gear Solid 5.
If that weren't enough Metal Gear, Konami also reportedly plans to release remasters of the original games ahead the release of the main revitalisation.
Lastly, multiple Silent Hill games are reportedly in the works, with unrivaled outsourced to an external Asian country developer before this year.
Konami technically never got out of the business of qualification mainstream games, even after the unceremonial exit of Hideo Kojima in 2015. Business mostly shifted to making pachinko gambling machines, but Konami released the critically panned Antimonial Gear Survive in 2018. It besides disoblige the ukiyo-e art-inspired metroidvania GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon earlier this year, and Wes thought process it was rad equally hell. Contra: Rogue Corps was much, a great deal less rad.
Konami's to the highest degree recent release is eFootball, the replacement for the Pro Evolution Soccer. Reception overall has been overwhelmingly negative, with eFootball quick flattering the lowest-rated game along Steam, though Rich noted that some of those negative Steam reviews have very little recorded play time and whitethorn just be attempting to critical review bomb the game.
It'll be interesting to see to it how fans of all respective franchise oppose to the new games. For many an, Hideo Kojima is Metal Gear, and the franchise would possibly lose some of its goofy design without him. Kojima was of run over also working on Silent Hills, which we got a taste of thanks to the infamous P.T. demo, but his departure from the company squashed those hopes.
VGC's sources suggest that Konami has loosened its lay out along using external studios in recent years, thanks to those aforementioned technical failures.
